More, cast from Poly(methyl methacrylate), are great fun to turn and can be used in a myriad of different ways.
Each blank measures 20 x 20 x 150mm. They are fairly easy to turn and drill; keep your chisels sharp and when drilling remove small amounts at a time.
These blanks do not require finishing – there is no coating that can be applied that is tougher than the acrylic and getting a coating to even adhere to the surface is very difficult.
We recommend sanding to a smooth finish then using Burnishing Cream for a final cutback to give a bright gloss finish. An application of Microcrystalline Wax will help to keep them looking pristine and fingerpint free for a considerable time if they are likely to be handled a lot, especially at sales events.
